    Found this recently:

Can't find any mention of it anywhere...

Surely someone here knows where this came from. ;)

    What's inside? It's not rare.

I found it on a listing. Haven't been able to purchase and receive it yet. It looks like your normal SNES (US) system and isn't showing any yellowing.

I am just curious where it comes from as no other sites seem to even mention its existence.

    Probably a kiosk machine.

Finally got ahold of this system.

Motherboard is SNS-CPU-GPM-02 and has the 1993 Nintendo copyright. Amazingly clean and in great shape, but it does not appear to be all that different from other models. Still not entirely sure of why the serial number is different but your theory seems plausible.

Any follow up info on these systems , I just picked one up today at a local flea market. Any articles on the subject worth reading?

No one seems to know (or care) about them. I wasn't able to find any information aside from proving that they do exist.

I talked to someone who referenced this thread. Either was a kiosk model or slated to be a kiosk model. Might have been done to make it easier to track them in nintendo inventory. 2hich makes sense from a tracking point of view. But nothing in stone proving or not proving it.

Highest I've seen was yours in the 490,000 range. But this is only the 3rd I've seen. Mine and 2 on google images.
