I doubt anything will happen but should it I'd imagine the US would just send over a fleet of drones to take care of most of the threats.

The biggest threat would be a NK soldier army heading south to engage SK. That would be very messy and I'm not sure what action could be taken to counter such an insurgency.

Three reasons I'm not digging a shelter.

    1. North Korea has Nukes but they are years away from being able to fit them onto an ICBM.

    2. Their ICBM's aren't exactly known for their reliability.

    3. They are dangerous but not stupid. They know full well it would be the end of them. Not even China would (or could) save them.

The anti-United States rhetoric is a constant meme for North Korea's propaganda machine aimed at the North Korean population. When Western news sources pick up such slogans, it usually has some purpose to get our back hairs up as a means to push some future agenda with public support, even if that means supporting a renewed arms treaty with an Asian nation. If you look at the North Korean English news website out of Tokyo, they are constantly spouting off threats, but it's not for international consumption. North Korea uses the contrived threat of the United States as a magic wand to keep people under the duress of endless potential invasion. In Cuba, they hold air raid drills in Havana every Tuesday to keep people preoccupied with a boogie monster rather than looking at their own government. Some countries use minorities and so on......

Nothing to worry about, it's just political noise for North Korean domestic consumption. Here is the latest headline from their news site: DPRK People Ready for All-out Action against U.S.

Nobody is really happy about NK getting nukes. But why they started nuclear stuff in a first place ? Just because U.S. politician guys were talking about military operation and stuff. NK guys made a crude nuke, boom! and that explosion blew all those invasion plans away.
Sorry if it sounds a bit rough for those who live in America., but there's a lot of countries and territories that were turned into complete mess by U.S, with direct military intervention or not - Kosovo, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Syria. Nobody wants such a scenario for themselves. And as sadly as it is, making a few nukes is the only way for a smaller country to drive away large sharks.

Yeah, true. But isn't it's the same thing U.S. always did. First USSR it cold war times U.S. spent billions for propaganda, and there's still a shitton of movies, games and stuff about good american guys killing bad chinese or russian guys.
Some potential enemy is always good when your country's economy isn't in a really good shape, or some other things are fucked up.

I agree with you Flash, propaganda is a universal problem. Regarding an invasion of North Korea by the United States, it's not necessary. The present agenda is based on strangulation and containment through sanctions consisting of trade embargo's and strong military presence in neighboring South Korea. North Korea on it's own trajectory is ultimately doomed to collapse. Their nuclear weapon program is more valuable as an invasion narrative stage prop for it's own people rather than a realistic threat. Besides, North Korea isn't sitting on a mountain of oil.

The headline doesn't match the article.

"North Korea to target U.S. with nuclear, rocket tests." The real story is that NK will conduct nuclear and rocket tests and the intended message is targeted at the US, not actual rockets targeted at the US. Silly choice of words if you ask me.

The real issue is with North Korea and China. China props them up because they share a border and don't want millions of North Koreans suddenly flooding into China if the state fails. NK tries to get away with as much as it can knowing China will always have to keep providing aid if they want to keep the borders as they are. But as NK grows more brazen the Chinese have been getting more vocal about it, and even threatened to reduce some of the aid in conjunction with the announcements and tests. That situation plays a bigger part than anything else.

In the end it's typical NK. Create a threat then ask for aid/concessions to stop the threat.

The North Koreans are really freaky shits. We see a lot of warped crap from North Korea on TV here in Japan. Their TV news announcements are always by the same woman and they speak in the most stupid fashion ever. They seem to think it's powerful and pride but to the normal people of the world they sound like right idiots.
