Due to cock up with my PC i missed out on this by 5 seconds! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140107688594 OH: :noooo:
Holy crap, someone got a bargain there! If you'd have thrown in your bid who's to say that he hadn't a huge amount placed on that thing and all that would have happened is you'd have lost and he'd have paid a lot more for it? This way you are spreading your love.... screw it, that's boll*cks and I'd be hopping around shouting at my PC! My wife and I were on eBay once and I had seen an item I wanted and shouted over "you place a bit for me if you can" she kept refreshing the page and finally turned to me and said "I forgot to bid". The 1 bidder got the item for £10.00. It was worth over £100 and I just left the room before falling out with her. Life really is too short! One will turn up!
What is that to the right of the SCART cable? Anyway, £50 or so... they aren't worth much more, are they? I know the green ones are less common, but still.
I've sold one in fair condition for $40, and another for $60ish. These always turn up from time to time. I wouldn't pay more than $100 unless the laser was brand new and comes with the matching color parallel port cover, and if it has S-Video out on the back.
Might be a difference in price paid by collectors and paid elsewhere as they regularly (I say regularly, but when they turn up) auction for between £60-80. That might be changing now of course. I bought one in Canada and still waiting for it to turn up. Paid about $100 all in. Given the £ / E exchange, that's still a good price on that auction!
i know i couldent believe it... typical that i have a PC prob right at the last minute.. as yo say though hemight have had loads of money extra on his bid so i might never have sttod a chance... Anyone got one they want to sell me :-D
Maybe, but it couldn't hurt if you bid 67 euros. At the worst, you would have lost the auction, and at the best you would win by 1 euro. On a auction I recently won, I only bid 1 cent more than the other guy. My bid was $40 and his was $39.99. What the hell was he thinking?
The best way to look at it are summed up in these two points. 1 - Just because the auction ended at a cheap price, does not in any way mean you lost a bargain, who knows the other guy might have made a bid which was far in excess of what you wanted to pay for it. 2 - Like buses, if you wait around long enough, at least another one will show up and if you're really lucky a shedload of them will show up. At the end of the day, from my collecting experience I have found most things I wanted a lot cheaper then when I first started to look for the said items.
Jamtex - I guess so.. its just knowing how difficult it can be to find certian Debug/Demo/dev items on the good old ebay, when they come up its like a fresh excitement! lol Also, who ever edited the title of the thread, thanks. I should have put a bit more detail in ... my apologies. Cheers
