Not to start a big long flamewar or anything, but who honestly likes Sephiroth?

I don't know what your problem has been lately, but one nerd telling other nerds to "get a life" is a bit past ridiculous if you ask me. What in your life is so exciting, cool, and hip that you think you can tell everyone else here to "get a life", huh? If you can't answer that question, then I advise you to get of your high horse right now and stop pointing your finger at other posters and saying "that's below our standards." If you don't like what you see, then my best advice to you is to get packing. Or, if you have some bit of information that is so amazingly awesome, why don't you share it? You point at others and say they aren't contributing but then you don't contribute anything other than a bitch session.

I will have to side w/ AS here. Although I think Mr. Casual should've directed the question a little differently: "What the fuck is up w/ all the Square fanboys? Their cookie cutter games pretty much suck, and Sephiroth is a girly boy douchebag". Or something like that.

Well I've always felt that Sephiroth was a boring villain. Squares' got some serious issues with most of their villains though. Kuja was a pretty decent villain, actually, if you can get past the fact that he looked like a woman. He orchestrated pretty much the whole thing behind the scenes and got 4 kingdoms to fight each other.

I can have fun with most FF games, but the fanboyish love of certain characters or the entire game in question for minute reasons gets on my nerves.

My favorite thing to ever come from FF was the Job System, and the ones that have it are some of my favorite FF games.

    EDIT:

Oh, and in my opinion, FF7 is what happens when they try too hard to make the game's story feel epic. FF7 has so many plotholes and there are several parts (especially some Midgar slum areas) that feel unfinished. Remember the sick guy in the slums? During a FF7 conversation on other forums, you'll see tons of other people trying to explain away at certain things in the story, because it was never explained upon, is very vague, or unclear. Some went as far as saying things like "Jenova had the power to take on the form of Sephiroth" and so on.
