hey guys, I just got a GDEV unit on a trade. I have a few NPDP carts here (not for sale). I plug in the unit with no cart, press the power switch on the front and it boots fine to checking. I shut it down and attempt to turn it on again and no video, I have to unplug the power cord from the back for about 15-20 seconds then attempt to restart it before it will boot again. It does this both with and without carts, whenever I reset it with the cart in, the disc number stays stuck on 0 and I cannot park the head with the open close switch. I also notice sometimes I get half segments on the disc counter, and when I bumped the cart it would change strangely. I did not switch the region dips while running, and I did not pull the cart while running. I completely power the unit down every time and have read the manual for the gdev from the sdk. Sometimes it boots totally fine with the cart in, and plays a freedom fighters beta , although one cart is showing invalid device Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am speculating a dying psu or swollen caps somewhere inside.
i know with a old gdev i had it did the same upon powering down im guessing its not made to be shutting down and rebooting so instantly and needs to power down before restarting but im only one person and it was a beat up gdev never tested my like new unit as for cart errors/issues never had any issues with my carts
doubt it but it was traded to skyway so if he parted with it which i don't think he did then you may have ended up with it but again i wouldn't know
I've got one coming today that's pretty much new so we'll see how that one compares and I've picked up a psu in the meantime. Any other suggestions would be helpful. When it works, it works, tested it for hours on end last night.
