    hello folks,

i'm pretty new to consolegamesdevelopment and thought i could ask here.
So, what is the NPDP-GDEV gamecubedevkit made for ? I know it's for development of gamecubegames but what can i do with it ? What possibilities does this devkit offer to me ?

Erm, I think you summed it up yerself...like you said it can be used to develop GC games.

The word 'develop' covers a broad spectrum, but the possibilities really aren't gonna be anything other than developing.

I hope you have the corresponding ODEM PCI card?

...If not, then you may be limited to debugging rather than full on developing, that the GDEV is so good for.

thanks for the information guys :)

what i actually wanted to know were things like :

is it just for programming or can i play games on it and read the data like take a look at the textures or 3dmodels of the game and also maybe read all the codes etc...?

    2. can i get the devkits somewere ?
    3. how does it work, can i get kind of an instruction somewere ?

Dev hardware is generally tailored to programmers since artists can do the vast majority of their work with just a workstation.

"Dev kit" hardware usually does two things:
-Emulates the game media (cartridge or disc)
-Assists in debugging CPU code and sometimes "GPU" and "SPU" code

Often that means you can upload and download memory, but unless you have tools to interpret the data, dev hardware won't give you insight into the game without the original development environment, which I'm sure you won't have access to.
