Just got a few quick questions about the NPDP Reader and Carts.

    1. In official use, would developers ever "hot-swap" carts?

    2. How does the Gamecube IPL react when a cart is empty?

    3. When a cart is empty, is it really empty? or are there place-holder template disc images on the cart?

    4. Does the NPDP Gang flasher require any special PC side card?

I plan to discover the answers to questions 2 and 3 myself, but if someone already knows any of the answers, I'd be quite happy to hear them.

    1. No, it would damage it.
    2. It just gives you a no data
    3. It's just partitioned, no templates
    4. Yes, an incredibly hard to get one.

with question 2, I'm getting a "Read Error" on a cart which is supposedly "empty". I'm going to dump the hdd/decrypt it.. possibly there's some interesting data on there then :)

Well if you break the xor, then you could do recovery on the dump.

AFAIK only one person did so so far.

I plan to read them from the GC side, no decryption needed, but the xor is too easy :)
