As I am visiting Korea soon, I am compiling a list of NTSC-J Korean games that either didn't get released in Japan or is different to the Japanese release. This is what I already had compiled: - PS2 Eye Toy Groove (content differs: Korean/English songs) - PS2 Axel Impact (no Japan release) - PS2 Time Crisis: Crisis Zone (no Japan release) - PS2 Okami (English language version, be careful there is also a Japanese language version) - PS2 Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo-Seoul (Korean exclusive) - PS2 Taito Legends (basically a mix of the Taito Memorial games that was also released in the US. Not released in Japan) - PS2 Pump It Up Exceed (no Japan release) - PS1 Manic Game Girl (Korean exclusive) - PSP Killzone:Liberation (no Japan release yet, but it will probably come sooner or later) - PS2 OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (no Japan release) - PS2 SNK Arcade Classics vol. 1 (no Japan release yet and not announced either though an Asian release also exists) - PSP SNK Arcade Classics vol. 1 (not out in Japan yet, though it is announced for next month) - PSP DJ Max Portable (Korean exclusive) - PSP DJ Max Portable International (Korean exclusive) - PSP DJ Max Portable 2 (Korean exclusive) - PSP Audition Portable (Korean exclusive) - PSP Pump It Up Portbale (Korean exclusive) - PSP Pump It Up Zero (Korean exclusive) - PS2 Rogue Galaxy (Korean version has selectable English/Japanese) - PS2 Odin Sphere (Korean version has selectable English/Japanese) Not sure about these: - PS2 Come On Baby! (was released in the Simple 2000 series in Japan but might be in Korean since it's based on a Korean arcade game) - PS2 Wave Rally (no Japan release?) - PS2 Twin Caliber (no Japan release?) - PS2 Jacked (no Japan release?) - PS2 Thunderstrike (no Japan release?) - PS2 Tak 2 (no Japan release?) - PS2 Evil Dead (no Japan release?) - PS2 Robotech: Battlecry (no Japan release?) - PSP OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (I seem to remember a Japanese release for this but can't find anything about it) Would be great if someone could confirm more Korean-exclusives.
Sakura Taisen got the Korean translated version in Korea... Think there were two - or were three? - and one of them has extra content...?
Jeilong: what Johnny is trying to say is, he is a giant GTA fan, and if you could get it to him, then he would be happy. And he would pay the dough for it.
GT, not GTA :110: Before that, i need to setup a Paypal account. And i can't do it right now. So i'll keep :crying: PS: Like Twimfy posted, he got a copy for me, but since i don't have a paypal account, i can't pay him yet. PS#2: Twimfy is that a Newcastle jersey?
There are also NTSC-J English language versions of Odin Sphere and Rogue Galaxy. I'm not sure about Grim Grimoire, but I'm trying to find out.
Ah, thanks! I have added Odin Sphere and Rogue Galaxy to the list. I also checked the Korean release of Grim Grimoire, but all sites offering the game seem to specify the manual is in Hangul, but the voices and text remain Japanese. Most make special mention of "Every new will freeze" which I interpret to mean the Japanese text will pauze until you press a button giving the player time to read or translate.
Yes it is. I was Born a Geordie and will die a Geordie, although my accent is long gone, it took only four years to dissolve. OT: That's an impressive list of exclusives, not to put a dampner on your trip but it will be difficult to find them. Koreans love gaming but there are very few stores apart from in very specific places. It seems like the whole of seoul has to travel to one place to buy games, there's no such thing as just a general gaming store here.
So you're from the toon army  I'm a Botafogo fan, black and white just like Juventus (Italy) and Newcastle. Here we are from the Young Fury.
I doubt this is what you are looking for, but the 3DO games Eye of Typhoon and Firewall are Korean exclusives.
Back from Korea! Had less time for gameshopping as I would have liked. Got most of the titles in the startpost. My wife actually took my list and found most of them by asking in a gameshop. Appearantly the staff took the list I had prepared for her (with Hangul titles and productcodes) and fetched most of the titles from other (smaller) shops for her. Contrary to what I read, Manic Game Girl was fairly easy to get. I paid 15,000 won (8 euros) for a mint copy with spine. I don't think it's rare in Korea so don't overpay if you see it on eBay. Nowhere to be found was the first print of Come On Baby. The reprint "Big Hit" version was everywhere though, but I'm anal about getting budget prints. Another thing worth mentioning is that I got many older PS2 titles new factory sealed for very reasonable prices. Used stuff was generally of less quality than in Japan. Korean gameshops don't use polish machines to buff up useddiscs. Always check for scratches and stains. If there is interest I will take pics of what I got and put some localization notes and product codes.
