Anybody out there happen to have any information about the encoder used in a Nuon controller? I seem to be able to buy one easily enough, but given the option I'd prefer to be able to build one. It looks like Nuon collectors aren't also generally hackers or modders, so most of the info out there doesn't cover specifications and components. I appreciate anything you can share.

Thanks for that. I'd seen the second link about adding controller ports to units not intended for gaming. The first link is new to me, but from the look of that encoder chip it looks like a custom part and not a nice standard TTL component. Looks like I'm buying online, or enduring more game shop clerks who go, "What's a Nuon?" :)
