The problem with Obscure is that it tends to mean bad... ...but I'll toss a few out anyway. Eternal Champions on Genesis/MD....Not that obscure, but fun & different. Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer on Neo Geo. Not the best fighting game out there, but I really like the music and characters. Generally pretty fun. World Heroes (1,2,Jet, Perfect) on Neo Geo (again)-- Maybe not obscure, but I think they're hugely overlooked. They might not be the end all fighting games...but the goofy characters and moronic plot make it fun to play.
Chō Aniki Bakuretsu Rantō Hen on the SNES (1 on 1 Cho aniki fighting game) Katsumi Ninja on the Atari Jaguar.
Primal Rage and Clay Fighter Don't know it they count as obscure.. but not many I know seems to like them ^_^
Beast Wars on Saturn? who can forget BALLZ 3D on the MegaDrive and SNES? =) I m also a fan of Bastard! for SNES (J) and.. Punch out!!
i really like zero divide and zero divide 2, both for the PS1 great looking games for their time and they play really well once you get aquinted with the controls.
Somehow reading about Clayfighter made me remeber Rakugakids on the N64. What's the Western title again? It's one of the games I always wanted to play but never got the chance to.
That stuff was cooler on paper than it actually turned out. I had two or three of those fighting games back when I had a PC-FX, and all of them were rather shitty. Games only a PC-FX fanboy can love IMO.
Does anybody know if Savaki is worth adding to the list of decent yet obscure Saturn fighting titles?
Anarchy in the Nippon is very cool agreed aboves........Martial Champion by Konami PCB was my fave SF2 clone, the PC Engine SCD version is quite scaled back but the music is awesome. Power Instinct / Gouketsuji Ichizoku 2 on Playstation is ace too, great bgs, music tho some game "pauses" for transformations are annoying, dont ruin the game.
