Obscure Japanaese handheld - P/ECE

Hi folks,
does anyone know anything about this weird Japanese handheld console, the P/ECE or PIECE? The only info in English I've been able to find has been these two sites, this site here and this Wikipedia article.
According to the first link it's something like the Dreamcast VMU or Pocketstation, except for PC, anyone ever heard of it?

 

It's been mentioned here before, I think it was some homebrew orientated device, not unlike the GP32, but more GameBoy-like in it's hardware. Someone will no doubt find the thread about it soon enough.

Looks a nice handheld will keep an eye out for it in second hand shops.
