Obsessing over a certain item

From a design perspective, it's really interesting. The system also employs a convection cooling system that Apple used in earlier computers, like the iMac G4 and the G4 Cube- both of which had the heat vent on the top of the computer, where heat would naturally go.

 

Funny thing about fans (if you don't know this already): Steve Jobs was never a fan of fans. He felt they went against the "Zen-like simplicity" he was going for with his products. That's why the Apple II was fanless. Of course, Apple currently makes many computers that use fans - even the MacBook Pro, which only has one very small fan, but it's still a fan.

 

...And the G4 Cube- it has a 2 pin power port for a fan on the voltage regulator board, and mounts for a fan, but was never included in all retail models. Steve didn't want them.

Unfortunately most units had overheating issues, especially when driving larger displays with the 500MHz version.

 

I obsess over the Motorola 68000 for some reason, it powered so many excellent computers and it's the first assembly language I looked at. It might also be some sort of brand loyalty thing because I loved Motorola back when they was making the RAZR, and never got over it.
