I've had a few odd video issues with specific games on my 32x. I have not tried to clean the cartridges or the 32x cart port yet or reseat the 32x ribbon cables. Just curious if anyone else has ever experienced anything similar.

With Blackthorne, occasionally the video display from the elements being rendered by the 32x will get corrupted randomly mid game after things had previously been running normally. The game will continue to play fine and sound will continue to play fine, but the picture below kinda speaks for itself by what I mean by corrupted. The corrupted elements (lines and squares) will flash rapidly as well.

With Virtua Racing, on 2 of the 30 or so times I've played it, it seemed as though 1 out of every 10 polygons (either pieces of the road, or a few pieces of the car) would be the color yellow, even though these polygons would not be this color normally. Everything else runs fine. I don't have a pic of this since its pretty rare that it occurs.

I have various other 32x games, and I haven't noticed any video glitches with them. I have played hours of knuckles chaotix recently with no issues and genesis games work just fine. Perhaps the cartridges are just dirty - but was wondering if these video symptoms (particularly for Blackthorne) could be related to something more serious, such as an issue with the 32x's processors, ribbon cables or caps.

If other 32X games work fine then it must be that those carts are dirty. A good clean should fix it. I had trouble with Virtua Racing Deluxe on my 32X. After I cleaned the cart, the 32X cart slot, the 32X cart connector on the bottom, and reseated the ribbon cables, everything worked fine.

^^ this since most of your 32x games are fine.

The Blackthorne video issue might actually be a software bug. I have heard from people on other forums that this same issue happens with a rom on a flashcart as well.
