So yesterday I got a boxed copy of Mega Man 3. When I got home though I noticed something seemed odd about it. In the lower left corner there was typically a yellow bar with information about the Mega Man Refund, as you can see in this image: My box has the yellow bar, but all the text is missing. Any other copies of the game I've seen online have always had the info about the refund. So does anyone know was there a release of the game where they just removed the text or would this maybe just be a display box that somebody at some point put the cartridge in?
There was a season when these were semi common on ebay, even sealed ones, no-less. I'm no NES collector, so I can't say why, but even the sealed ones never fetched much money (maybe like $30), vs the standard text version. Reminds me of "error" cards in the baseball collecting scene. Sometimes it meant big bucks, other times it meant it was just odd BTW, you probably missed it in another thread, but I had said I wanted to see your Mega/Rockman collection! You got any pics? I'm a pretty ridiculous Mega/Rockman collector. Maybe our collections can duke it out! -ud
