Ever buy something on Yahoo and get extra stuff with it? Over the years I've gotten quite a few things that just seem to be randomly thrown in. The latest was a CD-R with scans of Nintendo Famicom Disk advertisements....but I didn't buy that system from him.

There's been the obligatory porn, of course. Nothing like adding naked women on CD-R to a Super Famicom purchase. I bough a Neo Geo CD console once and the guy threw in a half dozen copied games. Once I got a DVD copy of a classical concert.....no clue why. It wasn't marked or anything.

There have also been the little Bandai toy figures, but not much in the way of hardware, unfortunately. Some people have used clothing to pad the boxes so I've gotten a few shirts and towels. Someone mailed something to me in just a regular zip bag which became my gym bag for about a year. That was actually cool, he wrote my address on a card he made and just tied it to the handle. It was like receiving luggage.

Granted, I've bought thousands of things so it's not like it happens often, but over the years it's added up...heh.

I never received anything extra without knowing about it, but I did occassionally send extra stuff usually when I feel they paid too much (eg ebay auctions) mostly when I find something not worth much that might be included like some ugly looking/scratch games that I didnt want to stink up my auction pictures with and once a very nasty looking ps1 with a console lot.

Free stuff is nothing new. I usually just pass it on to other people or trash it. Never gotten anything like a SuperGrafx console. Best free thing I got ever w/ a Yahoo Japan purchase was an ESPGaluda arcade flyer and an ESPGaluda prototype instruction card when I bought a Progear CPS2 board. The flyer is probably worth $100 or so. The proto instructions... who knows. Very rare. When Pink Sweets came out, they mailed me the flyer as well, as a gift. ;)

Nice. I've thrown in extra items, usually CD games when the person has bought a console plus games. Usually they are playable games but a little too scuffed to sell without looking bad. All of my sales are international so throwing in an extra console would basically kill my profit for the entire deal...heh.

I've had a few free games here and there when buying console sets but nothing too exciting to make me go Wow!

Not free stuff but a funny 'buying stuff' story. Once I bought some game related stuff from someone in Hong Kong. I asked him if he could send it as a present (so you won't get import\tax fee's)

    what he did?
He actually wrapped the items like a present and send them like that.
    LOL :D

I've had someone do the same thing, just to re-enforce the idea of it being a gift. And it worked too.

Not exactly the same thing but I was quite surprised anyway.

I bought something* from ebay, a few days later it arrived and I'm tearing off the card that's taped to the front which has my address on it, I then noticed that on the underside of the card is a photo of some guy called Simon which would not be out of place in a Soho phone box.

Apprently Simon was throwing quite the "fablulous" party and from the looks of the invitation the dress code was tight plastic short shorts. I hope he had a nice 21st, I got the invite a little too late and would certainly have been busy anyway but I got a chuckle.

*The item I won was this:

Sin & Punishment flyer and Neo Geo Pocket (brand new I think) and some other stuff:). Think I will begin to give away something extra I don´t use/need/want from time to time when I sell on Ebay (don´t often...). Pleasant surprises:).

Hmm gotten some coasters, some cheesy crackers (still sealed and stuff but uh?!), some toy figures (quite some actually) and best of all a Phantasy Star
    (1) for the Megadrive (Thanks, Celga).

I recently bought some pretty cool Sega sticker off a guy in Germany off ebay. They were quite large and metalic and from the early 90's. I won them quite cheap, maybe 3 euros. I asked him to send me an invoice with post to the UK. 3 days later he said he had allready posted them and I don't need to pay!

Anyway, I got them a few days later, all packaged up nice. And had a complements slip, nothing new really, but this was like a photo of a modern designer coffee table which he had writen his 'thanks' on the back. I thought thats pretty cool, as I'm really into furniture design. So emailed him 'thanks' and asked about the coffee table as I have designed and made furniture. He apparently designed and made it himself and asked to see my work.. pretty cool happening I thought, just for some old Sega stickers.

**edit. just realised this is in the Japan section regarding Yahoo auctions, sorry to disrupt the flow :(
