I remember seeing these in stores back in the day. They were a couple of pounds, I think.

Yep, that shit is official. We had them in the UK. Basically they are just a mormal disc wipe. Only an idiot would have bought them to use because they cost twice as much as a normal cloth.

I remember picking up a second hand copy of Dino Crisis from an independent game store near me, I got it home and it wouldn't boot. After making sure my PSX was ok I took it back.
The worker in the store seriously thought giving the disc a wipe with one of these 'special' official wipes would fix the problem and then seemed so shocked that it still didn't work!

Oh my god, I remember they used to sell disc cleaning wipes here in London, I want to say in HMV but for the life of me I cant remember since it's been so long, but yeah they were pointless because they cost a lot and did next to nothing to improve the disk

I can vaguely remember something like this that I got on the cover of a playstation magazine back in the day, (Play I think) it was some kind of disc repair agent in a sachet..looked like salad cream lol, you rubbed it into the disc let it dry then buffed it of with a supplied cloth.

Fixed my well used tekken disc with it...or was it toshinden?...old age is abusing my memory
