It would be awesome if the 32x and the genesis could fit inside the Mega CD box with just a opening for the slot... Using a power transformer inside to use only a single DC adapter for all 3. A single Mini Din on the rear it would look great... still I think that would be impossible.
Pictures galore ahead... first an update from the guy who is recreating the neptune shell with clay source: http://www.porlzilla.com/2012/08/sega-neptune-case-continued.html Here some new pictures of the 'real' neptune mockup, made by a russian guy who visited the CGE in 2012. source: http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?424935-Sega-Neptune-that-REALLY-exists-pictures-and-info
SWEET! I suck at custom console shells and I can't shrink my 32x hardware well enough to make it fit stock Genesis 2 shell. I'd love it if Neptune shell were made available for us. Then I can get rid of ugly mushroom top and have a smaller 32x system taking less space. (I'm still keeping my X'Eye for Sega CD and SMS adapter, the Neptune won't have CD attached as there's only 3 or 4 32X CD games released and none that I liked)
Wow the neptune look realy very nice! It even look better then the genesis what i already liked very much
This is a real Sega Neptune, I went to the game convention and I was able to hold the system, the controller prongs on the front are there, the buttons on the top push in and out, the cartridge slot doors were opened to see if the cartridge connecter was in there and it was. The bottom has a unknown slot which looks like a future add-on was going to be developed for the console!? The controller that was connected to it was a modified Sega Saturn controller with a Sega Genesis cord which is hot wired in the controller. My cousin has a Sega Neptune which I believe it is one of the reproduction prototypes and does not work at all, it looks exactly the same as the one in the pictures above just no add-on slot on the bottom though. I Hope everyone read this to know more info on the cancelled system.
It'a a model made by Otakus' Store, a very famous french company based in Paris. I have got one (the blue version) and it works great.
This proto is made by a french company named Okatus' Store. I have the blue version and it works great !
Okatus' Store made the blue version for the french site Super Game Land. I think there are only two models in the world.
