I must've had my head up my ass during the Saturn era as I can't seem to recall there being a magazine pushed out by sega. Sega Visions did go pretty far into 1995 but as best as I can tell that went only as far as November. The dreamcast got picked up in October of 1999 with ODCM but for the life of me I can't find anything between late 95 and 98. Was there anything or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Couldn't find anything for the US but the UK apperenty did: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Saturn_Magazine
and this is pretty well sought after items. I once tried to collect but after about 14-17 issues I lost the interest - well the price for the missing issues were too high...
I've got a near complete set of Sega Vision from 91 to 94, hoping to nail a few issues from 93 tomorrow on ebay. Missing all of 95 at this point.
Swap you for your proto Saturn :110: hehehe Ape, what info does Sega Vision have on Saturn? I'd be interested to know which issues actually mention the console in any way
I've only got 2 issues from 1995 that cover the Saturn in any form. My current set: OCT/NOV 90 FALL 91 MAY/JUNE 92 AUG/SEPT 92 NOV/DEC 92 APRIL/MAY 93 JUNE/JULY 93 AUG/SEPT 93 OCT/NOV 93 FEB/MARCH 94 APRIL/MAY 94 JUNE/JULY 94 AUG/SEPT 94 DEC/JAN 94 MAY 95 SEP 1995 And stupid me bid on 3/4 issues I ALREADY HAVE on ebay, so I do/will have some duplicates listed for sale later if anyone wants them. Unfortunately no Saturn pieces but there are lots of juicy bits about the 32X and SegaCD clear into late 94. I'll read my 2 95 issues and see if theres anything interesting. More than happy to scan them at high rez if someone could sell me a dc dev kit. 2nd picture, bottom right: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Visions-Magazines-Lot-of-13-Mags-from-1992-1995_W0QQitemZ180085563989QQihZ008QQcategoryZ280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180085563989 It's showing off Virtua Fighter for the 32x and VF2 for the Saturn on the cover.
To seperate the posts a bit I'll put my findings here: Daedalus: English screen shots of a game unreleased outside of Japan. Legend of Kain: Scren cap and a short blurb of this unreleased port. Monty Python Meets Medieval Magic: 4 screen shots and 8 paragraphs of text. Offroad Intercepter: An "extreme" version of this was released in Japan, but not in the US. 9 screen caps and 6 paragraphs of text. Virtua Hamster: 7 pieces of concept art and 2 large paragraphs of text. That's all I found interesting from the May 95 issue, next up is September 95: Journeyman Project: Director's Cut Pc port, unreleased. 2 screen caps and a large pargraph of text. Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger Large amount of text, no pictures. Descent: Seems to be unreleased. 2 screen caps. Endorfun: 2 screen caps, some text. Dragon's Lair 1 and 2: 2 caps, some text. Waterworld: Based on the movie. 2 caps, one that looks in game and one that looks like concept art. Ingame looks really nice. Text of course Offworld intercepter extreme: One of the same caps as the regular model mentioned above, the other looks different. In the back is a huge list from September to February 96 of release dates for saturn games. November of 95 we were supposed to get Castlevania: The Bloodletting.
All but Virtua Hamster. My mistake, Castlevania The Bloodletting was a 32x title: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlevania:_The_Bloodletting
I've got that issue. Its still Sega Vision, but it has a lot of information about the Saturn. If anyone wants a scan of it.... I can do it.
Bleh, we got Playstation Magazine instead, considering we got the bloody console anyways. We live in the US anyways, so we wouldn't be able to get it. That would have been wonderful though.
Wow, some great info there Ape, thanks! I shall have to track myself down some issues when I'm back in the US next. I'm quite surprised that there was no mention of the console in 94 - everything was around hardware-wise at the same time as the 32x, and I'm pretty sure the Sophia was 94? Welcome, Link and DOA! Link, that sounds great - thanks! You guys might wanna think about going over to the Introduce Yourself thread (it is in the 2nd forum from the top, I do believe)... I'm sure everyone will be happy to give you an official welcome, and learn a lil about ya ;-)
If I win the ebay auction I'm after I'll have some late 94 issues to go through. I can provide scans but they won't be available until at least later today.
