"Don't use this product as it's clearly intended to be used since we missed a design flaw that could cause it to catch fire."
That blurb posted above is complete nonsense - I'm no lawyer but the "Use of the product is at the sole risk of the user" sentence makes no sense and iam8bit and Capcom would definitely be liable if something tragic happened. Kind of surprised they're allowed to get away with this? I don't think any country would legally allow the sale of a product that might accidentally burn your house down. When it happens these products are usually recalled straight away - which is what they should be doing here - and they issue replacements. Waiting patiently for the impending lawsuit. And, no, I don't think issuing a text warning will count for much in court. "He's dead and his family's burnt to a crisp" "Yeah, okay, that's very unfortunate, but we sent them a piece of paper explaining the potential risks" "Ah! Yes. You're right. Case dismissed." On a completely unrelated note, It just so happens that I'm selling replica 'Resident Evil' themed barrels of gasoline if anyone's interested. They are loaded with fuel and make a great conversation piece. Please do not store in the kitchen or near a naked flame. 'Umbrella' logo lighter and box of matches accessories are optional. Limited to just 100,000 units so be quick!
Meenwhile I'm enjoying SFII Turbo on my Super Famicom like it's 1993 with 0 risk of fire. I forgot how GOOD it is on actual hardware.
> on actual vintage collectible fire hazards. ftfy. also, don't y'all ever forget what a strangling hazard those wired controllers are!
Just because you write a statement saying you aren't liable doesn't mean that is true. A poorly designed cartridge certainly could damage your hardware however usually what we see is using non 5v tolerant parts which in theory means a shortened lifespan for those parts and not the 5v parts. But anything could happen when someone is designing something. I just think it's stupid because why would you make a repro of one of the most common games? That would be like if Nintendo put out an official XXth year anniversary Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt game and charged $100 for it. And as others have said, SF2 Turbo and SSF2 were better versions on the SNES than the original.
No genesis love either, Some would argue it's versions of SFII are better than the SNES version. It's just baffling all together why this even exists. Collectables? There are TONS and TONS of Great Street Fighter Artbooks that are better than the art that comes with this thing. One of the best artbooks I own is the Street Fighter Tribute Book from Udon.
Can The Genesis Special Champion Edition keeps the Arcade intro and Super has the Round Call the SNES doesn't.
