I was given an xbox with error code 06. Apparently it was softmodded, but I am not sure what has happened to it. Can anyone give me any advice on what i can do? I tried the HeXen and Slayer boot discs but cannot get it to boot, just loads the error screen. Looking for any tips or suggestions as this would be great to get to back to a softmodded state or just have it factory restored to play some games on as i have a pretty decent Xbox library. Modchip is the easiest solution, however the code suggest that it can not unlock the hdd. This can mean that the hdd is from anothe xbox or dead. Having modchip you pop in another hdd and build it easy with no errors.
Step 1: Get a nice quiet HDD. Step 2: build this> Step 3: Use XBHDM to build new stock disk and lock using key you pulled using step 2.

Is there Anyone here that can make eeprom readers or sell them? I recently picked up another Xbox that's stock and works perfectly fine so I can play my games on it but I would still like to try to get this bricked xbox working in a modded state of some sort to play arcade emulation.
