After toying with the idea of a consolized MVS, I had a really great (or stupid) idea. Is it at all possible to consolize a Sega model 2? Even if it was just one specific game? I have access to a Daytona USA board and was wondering if this could be done. Thanks guys.
You can "consolize" any arcade board. 1) Build a box. 2) Put supergun components it in. 3) Put arcade board in it. 4) Install plugs and wires for controllers. Viola! instant console! -hl718
Would anyone be able to help me out with this? Admittedly this is my first try, and an ambitious one. Thanks for the help btw. I'm assuming the superguns on eBay won't work since they're meant for mvs and Jamma.
bad system to start with ... You will have to do a lot of rewiring for such task, and this game uses analog controlls aswell. I would start playing with some jamma board before to touch such thing
So would a 6 Slot MVS, but I'd still do it (if I had one) just to see if could survive the process or explode so spectacularly when I turned it on for the first time.
The thing is, the Daytona USA game is the only one that I REALLY want. Sure the MVS is great, but I'd rather spend the money getting the parts I need for the Sega Model 2 up. And honestly, I don't care if it's half the size of a freakin arcade cabinet lol, if it can be done, I'd love to know how, because no matter what I have to go through and no matter what it costs, I would love to see this become a reality. So, all help is welcome. Has anyone done this before?
I've seen a consolised version of the System 22 boardRidge Racer in G Front in Tokyo, it was massive and it look underwhelming as the old IBM PC gameport style steering wheel controller with hacked logitech pedals just looked odd. Just get rid of some chairs in your house and buy a Daytona twin sitdown machine
Haha, trust me, that's been a concideration as well. I'm trying to find one that's in good condition and local, but not 4k lol. I'm semi interested in the stand up versions since they're cheaper, but I can't imagine driving in Daytona USA, which requires quick movement between the brake and gas pedals, would be very easy on a stand up machine. We'll see.
Look harder as you should be able to get a twin sitdown for less then $2000... Like sex, Daytona is more fun with another person.
Haha, yea, one main reason I don't want a stand up single. Under 2000 huh? Wow, where do you live! haha. Unless I'm looking in the wrong places, those things where I look are anywhere from 3-4k! Any suggestions on where to look? eBay and online dealers are very high priced, and to be honest, most of the time there's one or more things broken on them and their general condition is ... well... bad.
