I stumbled across this link when doing some research, http://assembler.emugaming.com/Menu/menu.html This is what the site looked like when I first found it several years ago. Anyway, it just got me thinking, how many versions of Assembler were there?
this is how it was when i found it too. Ahhh...memories.. :typin: i think there was 3 versions of assembler, but i'm not sure. Assembler itself should be able to answer correctly (i hope so.. ;-)).
That was how it looked when I first came...twas pretty cool...I came all the time looking for new updates. Assembler had a quasi contest (just for fun) awhile back...he asked us to find the oldest version of the site online. Look for his geocities page under the name "ranmaddict"
This is what i remember when i first saw this place... I didn't stick around long tho... Either this is a joke, or Assembler has had a lobotamy at some point... http://assembler.emugaming.com/Singer_Izek/Izek_2/izek_2.html
Yeah, I remember that contest. http://www.geocities.com/ranmaddict/ http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Ginza/2271/pcengine.html Did he hold that before or after the switch from phpBB?
I'm thinking after phpBB...I seem to remember him posting some art from his oldest webpage on the front news page...
I first came across this site when I came across a pic of a Mini NES that I remember seeing at my daycare years ago: http://assembler.emugaming.com/Black_market/Mini_Nes/mini_nes.html The link is just an Adaptoid ad now. I had also found this link once. I thought it was an old link, but it's the main site in a different color/module: http://assemblergames.com/modules.php?name=Jig Yeah, I remember that link. When I searched and found this page: http://assemblergames.com/modules.php?name=News&file=showarticle&threadid=3763 I thought I had reached jackpot when it's actually the same link!
Damn, you guys are fast. I think that second link, Mark, is a version where he was still trying to figure out the new layout. He decided he wanted to be an omnistud and not have advertisements in the end. Still, it would be nice to find a way for him to not have to pay a gazillion dollars a month for a server.
I remember seeing this version as well. I just wasn't at all attracted to going into forums back then, but I absorbed the information in the site like a vacuum. My computer was dead, so I could only browse from the computers at school. Still, I waited for new updates and checked at least once a week. Those were the days. I remember that message that Assembler posted in the front page, something about wasted time, and being back in full force. Boy, did he mean it.
oh yeah, the good old assembler :"), and about those links... http://assembler.org/rig/ that belongs to kev?
Ahh, looking back at those pages brings back memories. Who was here when the site used the EZBoards BEFORE the pop up adds were added. I know GSL and Aniti were and I'm pretty sure Importaku was and remember Nintendomad? Yakumo
I think I was one of the last, becoming a member of that board. Where I asked you about what a spinecard was
I actually rememberd finding that page when googling for yaroze.. never visited the board or stuff like that.. just looked at all the pretty pictures of consoles and drooled
