Got myself a few side projects going on and I need some help acquiring old, obscure and generally useless parts (for normal, weird people).

    My shopping list:

SIMM - Paired only, do NOT want to go on a scavenger hunt. I need various amounts size wise but I'd kill for a matched set of 2x16mb (or three). 72 pin is what I need right now.

Harddrives - sub 1gb. Sub 100mb if you got em.

Zip drives - got some data recovery to do. Have a zip100 IDE drive right now, looking for a 250 and 750 models. IDE, USB; doesn't matter but I'd love IDE models.

Jaz drive - same as above.

Floppy drives and disks - need a 5.25" or two as well as disks for the various sizes and formats. Would be cool to find a 8" but a quick check of ebay shows they aren't cheap. Older Apple drives would be nice as well.

I'm in the states so as much as I'd love to take some junk off your hands across the pond shipping could be cost prohibitive (except for the ram and floppies probably). But if you happen to have a nice chunk of what I want we might be able to figure something out.

I've got a box full of SIMM (and older) and external cache sticks. Are you only looking for 16mb sets? I've also got a 10MB 5.25" FH HDD (Miniscribe 2012) if that's the kind of thing you're looking for hard drive wise. It's not IDE/EIDE/ATA though, so you'd have to keep that in mind.

Are Zip drives not BC? I thought at the very least that 250 drives were able to read 750 disks. The same with Jaz, which has 1 and 2GB versions.

8" drives are going to be near impossible to come by at a reasonable price. Your best bet is some type of surplus/scrap type place (here in miami we have the 'county surplus store' where decommissioned equipment from any county-run establishment: libraries, offices, schools, firehouses, etc are sent to be resold/auctioned if stuff doesn't sell it usually just sits). There were very few 8" consumer-level drives, as tape drives were much more affordable.

Are you messing around with data recovery? I've been collecting various readers whenever I can as a hobby. If you're interested in some random newer formats or have spare media for some things we might be able to work out a trade of sorts.

You should hit up all the thrift shops in your area. Salvation armys. goodwill, auctions, everything like that. You will find everything on your list and more. I have seen hundreds of IDE zip drives at junk shops in ohio and old PCs like 486's and up for like 3-5$ each.
