I have an 13-year Genesis, and I´ve found a 32X, I bought, but, the only way to turn on the 32 bit plataform is in the newer Genesis because of the cables that only can join in it.

But I know that the video-games are similar, and I decided to make my own cable to connect the old Genesis to the 32X.
    (see image 000_0315.jpg)

But this cable had a problem with the objects, when you play Virtua Fighter or Cosmic Carnage for example, the characters are transparent on the screen, then I made some adaptations.
(image 000_0314.jpg is without the adaptation)
(image 000_0313.jpg is with the adaptation)

    Look at the others photos!!!

I´m gonna try to make a drawing explaining how to make this cable later on other thread.

I don´t have any knowledge in eletronics in special, I made my homemade things trying, if this homemade cable can damage your sytem, I don´t know and I don´t have any responsability about this.

If someone know how to create an exactely old Gen to 32X cable, please send me on my e-mail or in this thread.

I want some help to put my photos in this thread. HELP ME!!!!!

    THANKS!!!!!!!

    Hi,

Basicaly the 32x must have the genesis signal comming into the unit, then it will output mixed signal to your TV...

If you try to mix signal outside the 32x unit, the genesis gfx might come under/upper the 32x picture very badly...
Well, this is due because the 32x hardware have a complex set of pixels priorities (to mix gfx with genesis gfx).

I hope it can help a bit.

    See ya

It's easy. Connect all the RGB output pins on the model 1 genesis to the RGB inputs on the model 2 style 32X.

    http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm

It really is very easy. The hardest part would be finding the connectors, but after that you just solder wires to each connector and you're good to go.

For 32X you need to link Red, Green, Blue, Sync, and Ground. Don't worry about the audio or composite video. You shouldn't need to link the 5VDC. I know I got it working without linking anything more than RGB and Sync.

So get looking for those connectors and you'll be set.

There's one on ebay in the UK right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-Megadrive-...oryZ3642QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Or search for 32X RGB.

I think I have two of those cables. I have a model 2 genny, so I don't have use for them....

I remember going to thise one site, I think the owner had a thing for Spongbob Squarepants. Anyway, he had pictures of what looked to be a homemade 32x devkit. Here's a link http://devster.monkeeh.com/segapage.html that you guys might find interesting...
