"old school" ps1 scph1000 mod?

I just recived my 'broken' scph-1000 today.

I know it's a modchip, but I can't find anything similar.
Chip is "pic16c57 RC/P"

There is also a switch(purple wires) hooked up to the "s301" "door" trace that is routed to the back.
















EDIT: on the CD drive ribbon there is a piece of wire running from the capacitor(on the ribbon) to the ribbon connector...

Looks like a standard 4 wire mod also with an alternative lid switch or lid switch override.

 

Lid switch would be for disc swapping. Friend of mine was a master at it.
