Please define old, most of my favorite bands are from the 1980's. So, my answer would be basically every Guns N' Roses song, Michael Monroe/Hanoi Rocks, Motley Crue, Warrant, Ratt, Cinderella, Steelheart, Skid Row, LA Guns, Van Halen, Faster Pussycat, Extreme, Billy Squire, Bullet Boys, Don Henley (Solo), Lou Gramm (Solo), David Lee Roth (Solo)...really anything pre late 90's like Iggy Pop/The Stooges, Sex Pistols, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, David Bowie, Boston, The Allman Brothers, Chicago, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Sting, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Gram Parsons, Miles Davis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Blues Traveler, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Little Walter, The Who, Aerosmith, Stone Temple Pilots, Fleetwood Mac, America, Steve Jones (Solo), etc. Anything that I guess nowadays is considered classic rock!!!!! I love 60s, 70s, 80s, early 90s, and even 50s like Benny and the Skyliners/Elvis and 40s like Sinatra too. I guess my favorite most recently formed band would be the 90's band Stone Temple Pilots. Rock N' Roll is and always will be the best!
I listen to a fair bit of 60's and 70's music, but I do listen to music dating all the way back to the 30's (the ink splotts namely)
The day the 90s starts getting grouped in with nostalgia stations is the day I will feel really old. Such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us8OhI-OTHg
It already is, especially the most dated sounding stuff like 2 Unlimited or Ace of Base. All I Want is great, and not just because of Crazy Taxi, although that's a big part.
Many, but here are just a few: She Said She Said - The Beatles Send Me No Wine - The Moody Blues Speak to Me - Breathe - Pink Floyd Swlabr - Cream Lookin' Out My Back Door - Creedence Clearwater Revival Military Madness - Graham Nash Everybody Knows This is Nowhere - Neil Young Turn To Stone - Electric Light Orchestra I'm assuming that by "old" you mean 70s and earlier.
I love some music from the 70's and 80's, a lot of old school hip hop is really fun to listen to, I quite like some disco/soul/motown as well. Of course I like the classics from that period which we are all familiar with but thought I'd post someting a little different for you to listen to. The Rock Steady Crew - Hey You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30ZW2mMlxxc Claudja Barry - Boogie Woogie Dancing Shoes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7glQWubYC7I
This classic, Golden Axe -Wilderness, but more seriously, Judas Priest (lot of good songs on Metal Works 73-93 album), Funeral of Queen Mary (synthesised) and Greensleeves I really don't have a particular style - if I like a song I like a song, but if there are lyrics I prefer them in legible english.
Can't go wrong with old music like the stuff you hear in The Music Man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Music_Man_(1962_film) That's where Till There Was You from the Beatles and Trouble from the Simpsons Monorail episode came from. Fun stuff
I mainly listen to stuff from the 90s. In particular I love OK Computer by Radiohead, and as you can tell from my avatar I like Dream Theater. I know both these bands are still active, but it's there earliest stuff I like the most. With that said, I generally like 90s alternative and grunge, like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
I don't consider them as "old", but here it goes... Ten Years After - I'm Going Home -_- Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode CCR - Green River Rory Gallagher (Taste) - Out On The Western Plain Eric Clapton (Cream) - I Shot the Sheriff (Crossroads Festival '04) Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song Deep Purple - Child In Time Eagles - Life In The Fast Lane Arrows - I Love Rock'n'Roll Guess Who - American Woman The Rolling Stones - Get Off of My Cloud Queen - Somebody To Love Animals - Don't let me be Misunderstood Since I've picked up my guitar again, I'm mainly into 60s/70s Blues Rock and 80s Rock. Love it!
