    Ok I cheated, but still..

    Here's the gear I used.

GameGear , Tv tuner, DC dreamcast with AV cable, AV to jack,
9v GG adapter, GG lens and headphones (GG speaker was dead)

    Check the movies:

Note that PAL GG only runs games at 50hz..so when I attached my JAP Saturn..no dice. I bet that the Japanese TV tuners should pick up a 60hz signal though..

You mean 50hz? Otherwise, is it the Tv tuner that doesn't pick up 60hz signals?

60 Hz. All Game Gear run in 60 Hz, with a NTSC-like refresh system (262 lines).

I don't think your problem has to do with 50/60hz but rather to the gazillion video output format that I do not understand myself, so I cannot help. :)

I think its to do with teh AV type...because I know that my Dreamcast needs
an RGB box to play on my TV properly through the AV leads.....where as my NTSC/J Saturn doesn't......maybe thats it?

The TV tuner IS a PAL unit. It is very unlikely it will take a NTSC signal. RF and Composite will both give out NTSC signals from an NTSC console. That will result in, at best, a rolling picture and probably a black and white picture. I don't know if the GameGear can handle B&W, it certainly won't like a rolling picture of the wrong frequency. Use a PAL saturn!!

Its an interesting thing you've done, but why Toy Commander? Why not Soul Calibur or Shenmue or something cool like that? :)

Yeah I know it will work with a PAL saturn but I checked my JAP first.

And for Toy Commander...well I just love that game. :smt040

Toy Commander is difficult (good) and takes some time to get used to the control (bad), but it's an excellent game. It's sad that so few people know it.

By using that small plug between the TV tuner and the DC AV cable.

But... DC's video output is standard RCA Cables. GGs don't have RCA Video IN.

I need to adapt the RCA to the small pin (headphone like)?
It's only for Video or audio too?

EDIT: I saw it in your pictures. You call the adapter "AV to jack" :)

Hell, that's not a half-bad setup. And you'd never have to change it if you had the SMS/GG emu available as well. :smt033

That's great Segafreak_NL, my brother used to play Megadrive games on Gamegear with the TV tuner too and some similar setup.
