Didn't know if this belonged here or in the Computer Support forum, if it belongs in the other one then, please move this mods. Anyway, I have £70 remaining to be spent on me for Christmas and I'm thinking of upgrading my Graphics Card to a 512mb one so I can play CoD4 without being in 800x600 (Currently on Nvidia 8400GS) but the problem is that I only have a 350w Power Supply so that would need an upgrade as well to support a more power Graphics Card.

Does any of you have any suggestions? Also how many Watts should I upgrade to? 450, 500, 600? Keep in mind my budget. I'm mainly looking for Nividia cards since they have better support for Linux, don't they? But I don't mind looking into ATI as well since my friend from college uses them and highly recommends them.

    Current Specs:

    Windows 7 Home Premium
    AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (2.7Ghz)
    4x 1GB of Ram
    Nividia 8400GS
80GB SATA Hard Drive + 160GB IDE Hard Drive.
    350W PSU

Does Assembler have a hidden customer support forum I am not aware about?

It's sad but, that's really not enough of a budget to upgrade.

Buy a good PSU and save for a GPU, or save another £30 and get a Corsair CX400W and Radeon 4650.

An 8600 GT works nicely on COD4, you should be able to pick one up for way less than £70

newegg.com is where I would go for anything cheap. If its not in your price range there then your best bet is ebay/craigslist beyond that I don't know what to tell you.

Well then I guess the latter is the only choice for him.

I've managed to find a £60 Nvidia GeForce 9600, so just need to scrap up a bit of cash for a OCZ PSU. Thanks for your suggestions anyway.

    £60 for a 9600 (GT?) isn't that good.

4850 go for around £50 now.
