I like that orange! I miss the old green/black. At least the Elite kind of brings it back.

Any chance that this is a fake? I.e. a 3rd party orange casing with a genuine silver Xbox badge attached? It's clearly just got a black base, so if this unit has been opened it would be difficult to establish whether it was not just something cobbled together from a variety of genuine and 3rd party parts without some far better images.

I'd like to see some 'Microsoft' stamps on that casing!

I find it amazing that such a console could have existed and until now nobody have heard or / seen one. I'd have liked full images of the entire casing, underneath and the front panel to confirm authenticity.

If it IS authentic then it certainly would be a very nice unit to see in the flesh. I love the orange memory card & the rare orange controller. It is possible that MS produced an orange console to go along with it all and then never went any further.

As Pikkon has just pointed out to me, if you look closer at the blown up image of the unit you can faintly see a Microsoft stamp on the casing. In which case, bloody hell! An Orange Xbox!

I thought the rarest one would be the Silver X - the prototype.

But then again, it probably didn't have any guts.

Yeah? Never heard that. Was it similar to the alpha towers inside?

In the Museum in Redmond they have a gutless version on display... and when you see it, you would never imagine it being adapted into any home living room. The thing is a beast.

Orange is the color of xbox live beta. I thought these were pretty common, seen a few of em.
Xbox live beta headset parts, etc all orange, mem card too. I think I took pics of mine.

The headset was orange? I have one kit, and only the mem card is orange, the headset is black.

Same here, although the hardcase it all comes in is orange / silver

I have heard of other live beta kits that the headset had the live account's gamertag etched on it, but have never seen one of these
