I know both Onimusha as ICO started on PlayStation, but I have only seen very few pictures of both titles. Does anyone have any more information and/or footage? Both projects seemed to push PlayStation relatively hard.

not much im affraid, though some old egms i got pics of it. From the looks of it it was going to be just another capcom title at the time before the shift to ps2.

I do have footage of both somewhere, I think. I know I have Onimusha, I think I have ICO as well... I'll try to dig them up

I've only seen one pic of Ico on ps1, though id love to see footage.

Speaking of Ico, what ever happened to the footage of Nico that was supposed to be released with the Japanese version of 'Shadow of the Colossus'? Did they actualy include it, and if so, anyone have it?

I never got Ico, but I loved every minute of SOTC. Im probably going to get Ico tonight as a matter of fact.

Even though story-wise its unlikely, I'd like to see another SOTC-esque title. There are SO MANY Colossus ideas that were scrapped that its not even funny. I surely hope there is a sequel.

Also, I want some scans of Onimusha for Ps1 if you dont mind. :icon_bigg

I thought Onimusha was originally gonna be Resident Evil 64DD until Infaune got a hold of it

Keiji Inafune said in an interview that Onimusha was such a large project, it would've costed him his job if the title failed commercially. He now supervises all Capcom R&D divisions (except for Clover). I really think it was PlayStation from day one.

Also, Resident Evil DD was developed parallel with Resident Evil Zero or what?

Many of the earlier PS2 titles were originally in development for its predecessor, such as Ico, Onimusha, The Getaway and even Killzone, which started off life as a FPS tech demo set on an abandoned oil rig back when Guerrilla was still known as Lost Boys! Anyway, back to the subject of this thread...

Ico was virtually complete on the PS, but when its creators moved the project over to PS2 they initially set out to just finish what they had already done with little or no visual improvements. However, as time went on the polygon count was given a slight increase and I believe the frame rate stabilised as well (those fog/misting effects would surely have taken their toll on the original PS). Of all the games that were PS leftovers, I doubt that Ico really changed that much. On the other hand, some confirmation - preferably from an official source or direct feed - would be good to have...
