It seems almost silly that you would need a compass in a city, but this is probably better than a map in some cases. How many times have you taken a wrong turn and wound up in a completely different place than you anticipated? It's happened to me quite a bit.

i usually start from my home and got through the stores down here in kanagawa-ken, midori-ku (and next to it) where i live.

saitama must be a very nice place to cycle around, but just a lil' bit far from my home :)

but my parents-in-law live up in saitama / kawagoe-shi :)

It's happened to me a few times, normally walking down roads where you are unsure if the road is continuing or if the little kink in the road is still part of the road. Going to said doctors last week, I looked at a map and it seemed that I could cut some time off by going down the back streets, all I needed to do was go to the end of the road and turn left, except I turned left too soon and instead of ending up in Shibuya, I ended up in Ebisu... that day I didn't have compass...

It is quite nice, have cycled from Tokyo prefecture through Saitama to Ibaraki, 80km of fun and getting lost.

Although I am in Ibaraki but Saitama, Gunma and Tochigi prefectures are close by, going to cycle 45km to visit 4 hard off stores today. :icon_bigg

And using Mapfan to print me a nice map showing me where to go.
