This OOT 2d has made way more progress than previous attempts. Everything up until defeating queen gohma is finished. They're using a custom engine and making it without any game maker utilities. What is playable so far is great! At some parts it goes into a side perspective and you can aim the slingshot the same way you do in Yoshi's Island. You can download it from their site here. http://www.oot-2d.com/ You can report any bugs or glitches and contribute to the project at their forums here. http://forums.oot-2d.com/site/ Their youtube channel is here. http://www.youtube.com/user/LunarWorldGames
Judging from the trailer alone it looks promising. Let's hope they do not run into any large issues, or lose their commitment.
There's still progress being made to this game?!! :-D I've been waiting for YEARS to finally play this! Yes!! I can't believe they're still continuing this project i thought it was cancelled or something? Awesome!
There have been a few attempts at this over the past 10 years, so this might not be the exact same project. This is a completely different team working on it but it is still OOT 2d. I forgot to mention before that one of the team members has started a youtube channel that has random updates from the project. http://www.youtube.com/user/CheerfulSage
Can't wait to play through version 1.0! I know I'm dreaming, but it would be incredible to see this ported to snes or n64.
I don't think that can be possible. If some people didn't notice this before, I would like to clarify something. You can download this and play it NOW!!!!!!!!!!! They have released a playable version that is available for download. This is the most recent version http://www.mediafire.com/download/rb7mcwgc30ww4r2/OoT+2D+2014+v.10.2.zip If you want to report any bugs or help them in some way register at their forums here. http://forums.oot-2d.com/index/
I'm surprised to say that word of this project has spread like wildfire today!!!!! There are articles on IGN, GamePro, Zelda Dungeon, Zelda Informer, PC gamer and many more!!! Now we get to have a remake of OOT that has more added content than the 3DS version!!! Lets hope that Nintendo decides to let this slide.
How so? The scrolling is a little jerky in places, I saw no other issues. I love how every area is instantly recognizable despite the 2D format. Amazing work!
