Hello, I'm trying to open some Xbox resource files, namely .xbr files from the Re-Volt Xbox Alpha (in the cars folder). After doing some research (and not finding any mentioning of that format whatsoever) I at least found the tool they seemed to be created with in the 5558 XDK. Its called xbrc.exe and supposedly compiles .xdx files to .xbr files but it doesn't seem to work the other way. However there is a mentioning in it that the .xbr files "can be loaded directly into an application or previewed using the xbview tool on the Xbox". Of course that tool doesn't seem to be available for Windows and since I neither have an Xbox nor any knowledge about it (I'm just interested in some content files of Re-Volt) I'm asking you guys if you could help me opening or even converting these files in some more common formats.
Many conversion processes are one way. XMV is another, although some tools out there can convert but they are not perfect. Basically everything in the Re-Volt XBOX Live BETA is the PC version, there was nothing extra whatsoever in the XBOX Live BETA.
Yes I already thought something like that, I'm talking about the Alpha though (or are you just talking about the BETA disk and the game version is still alpha?). Still, is it possible to open the files with some tool on the PC? Or convert them (even if it means that there is some quality loss with it)?
Any of the materials are basically the same from the PC version from what I could tell. I've got the PC development version and there's nothing different apart from some unused cars that didn't make it in the final version since one of them was a naked woman I honestly don't know if there are tools or not. I can somewhat assure you the Alpha won't have anything very different than the PC version. It was basically a port.
Okay, thanks for the help anyway PS: If someone knows a tool or a way to open them I would still be interested to know.
