I recently got another FC/SFC ac adapter from mad-gear and it's got a really
strong buzz when you plug it in. I mean it vibrates the wall. No way am I going to use it as is.

I'd like to open it up without damaging it, so my question is how?
The 2 holes have rectangular looking pin heads, but are they removable
    or are they riveted down?

You can open it up but if it's vibrating like mad then you are probably better off getting another one or better still look at getting a switched mode PSU so it will run quietly.

They are removable, you just need a special screw driver. Once you get it open though, the only thing you'll be able to do is replace or maybe rewind the transformer, but that would be stupid.
