Je rencontre un problème de débit de connexion entre OPL (0.9.1 - 0.9.2) et mon ordinateur sur lequel sont stockés des jeux dans le dossier «PS2SMB» qui, lui même possède les dossiers «VMC, CFG, CD et DVD». La connexion est très bonne et passe par un switch ethernet 1Gb/s. La PS2 et l’ordinateur sont tous les deux connectés au switch par des câbles droits de qualité 6. Le réseau est correctement déclaré et parfait mais, pratiquement tous mes jeux n’arrivent pas à obtenir plus de 850 KB/s de débit ce qui provoque des saccades dans les vidéos (les FMV par ex.). Les configurations des jeux ainsi que les VMC sont biens lus ou créés sur le disque en réseau. Cela fonctionne très bien mais les débits ne sont pas suffisamment rapide pour éliminer les saccades très visibles. J’ai fait de nombreuses configurations de OPL0.9.2VMC (Auto, 100MB, 10MB) mais inefficaces jusqu’à présent. La seule configuration qui fonctionne actuellement (800 KB/s) est de forcer mon ordinateur à travailler en 10 MB/s et de laisser en AUTO la configuration de OPL (091 ou 092). Si je met la configuration Ethernet de mon ordinateur en AUTO, 1GB/s, 100MB/s alors le débit baisse aux alentours de 55 KB/s linéaire, celle de OPL n’y change rien. J’ai aussi tenté de changer d’ordinateur, de PS2 (Slim ou Fat), de mettre les machines (PS2 et Ordinateur Mac) en réseau direct (câble Ethernet croisé ou droit) mais rien ne change, toujours ces 800 Ko/s (au mieux 900 Ko/s). Est-ce normal, que puis-je faire pour obtenir un débit plus rapide avec OPL ? Merci à vous tous. Cordialement. Under no circumstance you will get more than what you're getting. It's the PS2 which is too slow to receive packets any faster than that. The other side gets throttled while waiting for acknowledgement packets from the PS2. When using SMB, the issue is even worse, because the IOP (it's a 37MHz CPU with only 2MB of RAM) it also having to run tasks related to the game, along with the networking processing required for fetching data from the SMB share. My suggestion is use a PS2 capable of using the internal HDD.

Mes enfants sont partis de la maison et m'ont laissé leurs consoles pour s'occuper de me faire grand-père (4 fois) et travailler aussi. Vous êtes un très bon technicien et je respecte votre avis. Mes tests sont réalisés avec les deux types de console, et les réactions du réseau sont identiques à quelques Mo près dans les hauts débits. Hier au soir, sur "PSX-scene" j'ai eu une réponse de "Bat Rastard" qui me disait que chez lui, les débits atteignaient les 1,7 Mo/s. Si j'avais de 1,3 à 1,7Mo/s cela serait déjà très bien (avec les Fat comme les Slim). Connaîtriez vous une bidouille sur OPL ou sur mon "Mac Mini" (sous OsX.5.8 Leopard) qui me permettrait d'améliorer sensiblement ces débits ? Merci par avance cher ami. Helo I_Oliveira. My tests are performed with both console types, and the reactions of the network are nearly identical to a few MB in broadband. Last night on "PSX-scene" I got a response from "Bat Rastard" who told me that his home, the flows reached 1.7 MB/s. If I had 1.3 to 1,7MB/s that would be great (as with Fat Slim). The PS2 is what make it slow. So the only "hack" to fix the slow speed is use something else instead of the PS2.
Je n'en suis pas très loin avec mon faux "WinXP-SP3" (vrai machine MacMini C2D/2,53Ghz/8GB/1To HDD). Cette machine boote sous un XP amélioré et me donne de très bons débits en réseau LAN avec ma PS2 sous OPL091VMC. C'est parfait pour moi. Je remercie "Bat Rastard" de "PSX-scene" qui m'a beaucoup aidé, c'est un gars très sympathique ... I'm not very far with my fake "WinXP-SP3" (true Machine MacMini C2D / 2,53Ghz / 8GB / 1TB HDD). This machine boots up in an improved XP and gives me very good rates in LAN with my PS2 under OPL091VMC. This is perfect for me.
