I remember back when we had our Original XBOX we got it chipped or flashed (not sure which) to play copies. It was really fucking weird because it was temporamental which discs it would read (DVD RW's only IIRC) and the way you got it into the mode that it would boot the copies.

You would turn on the xbox as normal but keep the button pressed in, I'm not sure how long you had to keep it pressed in for because I just kept it pushed in until the splash showed. If you did it right a Orange splash would show with different text underneath (cant remember IIRC) the led would be orange (I think) and it would be in copy mode. However if you turned it on as normal it would have the normal Green LED and normal splash screen and not boot copies,

Does anybody know the name of the hack this was using? I'm getting an xbox for extremely cheap of my aunt and I'd like to pimp this badboy out and unless theres a better hack (Think the guy who did it for us fucked it up tbh hence why it wouldnt read anything but RW's) I'd like to put this on.

Thats more about the dvd drive, it really has trouble reading cd's. I remember dvds read just fine most of the time.
