i don't know if any peeps here are into collecting of original production cels, but i was about until 10 years ago. so i still have sum bunch of cels i've kept and rediscovered while cleaning up my room last year. mostly from dragon ball TV series (older and newer) and some others like ranma 1/2, lupin, dr. slump and diverse.

so, for how much do these roughly go today? i have really no clue.

some of em are already nearly 25 years old, like the dr. slump and the early dragon ball ones (lil' songoku). also they're barely sun faded.

    thanx :)

Wow, I'm no expert in these things but I've seen some of them go for hundreds of dollars.

Really it depends, I'm sure there's some anime forums out there where you could get precise estimates.

These are a treasure, good sir.

    I envy you.

That Ghibli one... is that Akage no Anne?

That Lupin one is so, SO sexy...

Man, for whatever they go, I wish I had the money.

It really depends on a number of factors such as the series and character, if it has background animation, if it was created for use in an episode or to be sold, if it can be placed, ect. Other stuff like how popular the series has remained over time and how many cels made it out of the studio are also big factors.

From the photo it looks like you have some very nice cels some of which could be worth a pretty penny. I would really find a place that deals in animation and get an appraisal.

    I used to collect cels

There's like 100 eps of dragonball ... lots of cels. You have some
nice full on shots. Probably fetch a nice amount. I would laser print
    backgrounds for all of them.

I'd say the buu cell is probably the most valuable, followed by the
    various goku ones...

I have a few cels myself.

Prices vary greatly - there are many cartoons from the past 30 years from which many cels sell for very little money ($10 if that). Japanese shows tend to sell for a bit more, especially in the West. The big money is in Disney (particularly the early stuff) and The Simpsons.

The real answer to the value is, as always, whatever someone is prepared to pay! You should look for dealers with similar products from the same shows of a similar quality, and see what they're selling for. cels.org would be a good starting point.

I'm a cel collector and agree with retro, there are only a few things that still command big money right now as there has been a drop in prices in recent years. Disney stuff and certain japanese shows can still sell for a bit, but there is a lot out there, things that 3 years ago would have been in the hundreds that are now only selling for about $10. You do have some great shots from Dragonball that should get you at least $100 each, if not a bit more, Dr. Slump and Ranma 1/2 are probable not going to get you as much. Probably $30 each tops, but you never know. I'd put them on e-bay with a highish buy it now and have the best offer option.

There are a number of places in Japan to buy cels and most have a window with expensive cels from studio ghibli or big series with full characters and backgrounds but the vast majority of them are less then Y1000. I've seen DBZ cels for as little as Y200...

I have a reasonable collection of cels from Urusei Yatsura, Tenchi Muyo and Pretty Sammy and not one of them have cost me more then Y800, some have cost me as little as Y52.

If you look at Ebay, you will see quite a few DBZ cels and most are listed for stupid money, a few get sold but I can see if you put a lot of them on for $1 starting bid then few of them would break $10...

If they're worth so little in terms of cash, you're better off doing what Assembler says: Laser Print a backdrop for each and frame them.

I'd hate to get rid of those cels if I had them myself.
