    What is the upscan converter? It seems like it is a VGA adapter? BTW I have a white/grey JAP21 PS1 cable, is this the EURO scart version? What is the black version of this cable then?

    Scaler outputs image vga (640 * 480).

    This scph-1052 pinout Connectors euro scart.
    Scph-1050, for the Japanese TV with pinouts RGB21.
    Black cable produced later, during the playstation2.
