Anyone know if there is any way to hook up a stereo 3.5mm audio jack to the original xbox console? If it's possible does anyone know of or have a tutorial on how to hook one up? Thanks in advance!

Kind of but not quite, I want to be able to add in a headphone jack like you would see on a MP3 player or the like into my xbox without having to mess with the av cable. I want to hardwire one in.

I don't know for sure but I wouldn't think this would be too difficult. Just find a couple of spots that correspond to the left and right audio that lead out of the output of the back. Basic multimeter work to find this. Solder onto these with 2 wires. Attach it to something like this: http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?KeyWords=CP5-43502PM-ND&WT.z_header=search_go
Drill a hole and install. That's how I would go about this, granted I don't have an xbox and haven't done this mod, but this seems fairly basic.

You will need to add a pot or something to adjust the levels or spend $10 and buy a small prebuilt amp with vol controles

Not too worried about that, Not actually planning on using it for headphones. Either way XBMC has volume controls built into it so even If I did use it for headphones I would be able to adjust the volume with that. No need for any controls on the output.

Found this lovely Pinout diagram which I plan on using when I get the parts I need. :D
