I've got an original xbox and found a guide for getting HDMI output which I have a 17.3 inch laptop LCD/LVDS converter board as apparently it can output 1080i 16:9. I was wondering if anyone had any projects or ideas for designing a laptop or something neat out of this? Xbox will have the TSOP flash/CoinOps/upgraded (possibly SSD for stability) hard drive, aftermarket CPU/case fan. I was thinking about custom acrylic laser cutting service for a low profile case. I also have some old cisco switches I could possible salvage.

As far as I could tell, it was just the 360. I have a network switch that's the exact length of the hinged LCD so I'm probably going to see about hacking that up without it looking like crap. Looking for any ideas or abandoned projects for inspiration. Mainly wanting to do this just to make use of the screen I got for free.

It's up to Your desires and money actually and Your abilities to make them true. But here are some ideas/words to google to find some ideas:
    -Xbox Micro Mod
-Video Encoders Datasheets (Conexant, Focus and their partnumbers). You'll find out it's pinout and the way it works, maybe it will leads you somewhere.
-Scaler boards by their main IC's. TSUMv29, TSUMv56 and other... (RTD2660 - OFW lack of YPBPR support, but it might be programmed that way but it needs money to ask author to compile openrtd266x FW for your LCD)
    -PicoPSU
-Tantalum polymer caps (up to 35v)
-Old notebook heatsink with its fan. You have to desolder/mod it's old heat pipes and put back new ones (Aliexpress).
-Acrylic glass - worst thing to use. 3d printing maybe but it will cost you.
