https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLi2P7rsQAJfIiA4WmpYOnO3Pi-B3XSH7n I've been a lurker on here for a while but I thought I'd may as well make this my first post. The retrospective was over 6 months in the making. Since there is isn't a particular Xbox Retrospective video on Youtube to my satisfaction, they all seem very brief and miss out some details. I decided to give it a go myself. I've collated all 3 videos in a playlist for more convenient viewing. Some board users at GameFAQ's will already know about this particular retrospective in it's earlier incarnation. I've re-uploaded the 1st part, as the sound quality and audio was bloody horrible. It's now in a higher encoded video, re-edited and with added information... thanks to some new video editing software and a little more hardwork on my part. I will be doing other retrospectives for other consoles and games. I always appreciate feedback and would love to know your opinion on this Xbox Retrospective Cheers! https://www.facebook.com/xenonxyanide
Hi - I've watched some of this and it's a really interesting look at the old xbox. However you advise people to remove the clock capacitor, but this should not be done for v1.6 xboxes. The last version of the xbox did not have this problem and, unlike older versions, it will not work if you remove the capacitor. I'd also warn against tearing the capacitor out with a pair of pliers, as you could easily damage the board. Better to use a soldering iron, but I suppose however you do it, that capacitor needs to come out. Also, while I'm being negative (!) there are a number of different types of power supply for the xbox and I don't think you can just swap them over between different versions (eg some have different connectors). It's great you raise these issues though. I do love the video though, I'm definitely going to check out Call of Cthulhu, I've never heard of that one.
Nice, looking forward to watching this. Only had time to check out the first 5 mins but it looks like I'm gonna enjoy these videos
Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to put some annotations on the 3rd part regarding those issues thanks for pointing that out
I've quickly changed that information on the 3rd part mate. Corrected the information about the 1.6v Xbox and the DVD drives. Thanks again guys.
