Original Xbox sotfmod and 128 MB upgrade

    hi everybody, my question is:
    Is it possible upgrade to 128MB ram an original xbox soft modded?
    or must necessarily hardmodded?

    I don't think a softmod works here - The BIOS needs to support extra RAM and initalize it on bootup. A softmod replaces the BIOS in memory only after the dashboard launches, i.e. far too late.

    Counter question: Since you have the pads for the RAM, you're obviously on a board below 1.6, and you obviously also know how to solder - so why not just TSOP the thing?
