1)new fat engine 2)file limit per folder increased to 512 3)software region patching in case if hardware megakey can not be used 4)full file name displayed in bottom of screen 5)scandisk does not kill EDMD folder anymore 6)some minor bugs was fixed http://krikzz.com/pub/support/index.php?dir=everdrive-md/os-bin/
seems like a cool update (software region patching sounds cool for us 32x users) hopefully a favorites list wont be to far off for the EDMD
After a couple of hicups, I was able to update and am glad the a previous non working game came to life! E-Swat US (for some reason) wasn't working but now the same file works great. Golden Axe 3 stills complain about the region locking, so software patching still does nothing for this one. Thanks and best!
Does this update fix Streets of Rage 2 Japanese version from working on an American console? I tried it on my unmodified model 1 and it failed, region error came up.
there is no some speciall fix for some games, just software patching in case if hardware megakey can not be used. Streets of Rage 2 does not work even on mega everdrive, probably some adwanced region protection
There is a IPS file inside the archive attached that will remove the region lock of the EUR/JAP version of SOR2 (from GoodGen)... I think it also allows until 99 lives... If you have problems send me a PM. Hope it helps somehow... View attachment SOR 2 - unlock.rar
Cool! The folders still have lots of filenames beginning with ._ (for example if I have a ROM called Black Belt.sms I will also have a file called ._Black Belt.sms) but at least they have been moved to the end. Would be nice to not have them at all. Also, I use a Mac and now the spotlight and trashes state are showing up whereas they didn't before. Perhaps you could tell it to ignore and not display the following: .Spotlight-V100 .TemporaryItems .Trashes ._.Trashes ._.TemporaryItems MDSAVE.DAT
You can use Blueharvest to clean this before ejecting the sd card from your Mac. http://www.zeroonetwenty.com/blueharvest4/
ok, i make small update, now all .**** file should be hidden. OS v32 http://krikzz.com/pub/support/everdrive-md/os-bin/os-v32.bin
Thanks a lot KRIKzz! The full name display at the bottom of the screen is a great feature! But I think I´ve found a bug in os v32: At some point, the alphabetical order of the roms gets messed up. It can be seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkzjgolPmHQ I´ve got less than 250 roms per folder and I´m using fat32 on a 8gb microsd card through an sd adapter. Os version: 32 Firm version: 13 Megakey: hardware Console region: usa ntsc Assembly date: 20.02.2012 Hope it can be fixed. And thanks again! Edit: Tried formatting the card again and copying roms again. No effect. Tried reverting to os v31. No effect. On os v29 the listing was ok.
i noticed the same thing also but didnt think anything of it but from checking out afew other folders there is indeed a bug in the file order with games like castlevania being at the end of the list ect...... very odd bug lol....
