We have a Street Fighter V thread and one about people bitching about how KOF XIV looks. But there are a shit ton of Fighters coming: Mortal Kombat XL Guilty Gear Xrd Relevator Blazblue Centeral Fiction Tekken 7 KOF XIV New Samurai Shodown. Killer instinct Season 3 Rather than give all these games their own thread, I'd just make one for all of them and any that might be announced soon.
I was going to buy Guilty Gear XRD -Sign- but it's almost impossible to find it down here. When it show up, people ask insane prices. So, i'll just wait for Revelator. Seems like a "Super" edition of -Sign- anyways. Also, i really hope KOF XIV is good, gameplay wise. That way Samurai Shodown will be possible.
Depends on if you play Guilty Gear for story or note. I'm worried about a 3d model Samurai Shodown. I've longed for a Shodown that looks like Guilty Gear. Guilty Gear reminds me of Shodown as it is.
The only thing that might interest me this time around is Tekken. I'm on the fence over a new Samurai Shodown. MK XL? Man that title is cheesy.
Better than MK Big and Tall Nitroplus Blasterz just came out in the states if Animu fighters are your thing. No idea if Sega's Shining Force fighter is coming to the west or not.
I'll be getting KI Season 3 for PC. Very excited to see it coming over. Can I put in a request for a Dead or Alive 6?
I hope there is a DOA6 and that they don't puss out on releasing because of SJW scum. DOA5's story mode ended on a Cliff hanger that requires resolution. There are heavy rumors about Soul Calibur 6 and that it might reboot and totally ignore Soul Calibur V. HMMM Soul Calibur V released unfinished with minimal single player and a gimped story mode too............ Mystery solved?
I suppose I'm looking forward to KI Season 3. Not much of a fighting game person, but I always enjoy KI for a bit after I get a new season.
I am SO close to getting an XBONE JUST for KI. All the game play I see from it looks sick. Of course I doubt I'll be pulling for 233 hit ultras like Maximillion and others do. Plus Kim Wu and Maya are pretty freakin hot too.... What KI is to XBONE Pokken is to Wii U for me. BUT I don't think I'll get a Wii U just for Pokken and Smash.
KI is damn good, and quite frankly is the only fighting game I've really enjoyed since Mark of the Wolves.
I personally think KI xbox one is easier to play, but feels good too. Played for many many hours. Bought xbox one exclusively for that game. Been meaning to play again but haven't got around to it lately.
The Character designs in KI are top notch too. Maya, Kim Wu and Orchid are HOT. Are the mechanics in KI as mashy as the originals?
You can mash all you like but combo breakers will knock you on your ass repeatedly. You might be fine against a new player, but anyone who's played for a enough time to work out the system won't have any of it. Counter breakers change up the game quite a bit. Instinct abilities are also game changers. There's more depth in this iteration that's for sure.
That's good news. The combo breaker system in the older ones seemed pretty random. Glad to see there's more of an emphasis now. I'm excited to finally play it. Although we'll see how good the port is...
Combo breakers are a bit like rock paper scissors, kinda. Light punch and kick together breaks light attacks, medium does medium and heavy does heavy. But you need to get the right timing otherwise you'll get something called a Lock Out where you can't combo break until the lock out runs out, which is like 5 seconds I think. If you are attacking, and you predict that they are going to combobreak, you can combobreak at the same time to get a counter breaker. You can also bait the opponent with the same tactic. Hard to explain, but you should understand it when you actually play it. Whens it coming to pc and do owners of it on xbox one get it for free on PC?
It's not if I play it at this point it's when. And figuring out where in my set up the XBOX One is going.
Worlds better. Well, I think the same could be said of most any fighting game if you don't know what you're doing. At least in KI you can look good even if you don't know what you're doing and have fun doing that, but I imagine high level competition turns into a pretty intense chess match that requires frame counting and precise inputs what with the combo breaker system.
