So I've had these Falcon motherboard for quite some time now that I haven't done anything with. It's in fully working order except this one issue. The thing literally overheats within seconds of being turned on I'm tempted to cut the temperature sensor since that seems to be the issue but is there anything else I should try before this?
the thermal paste is cactus mate, take my advice, don't play on it! get her opened up and head down to your local electronics store and pick up some
In my experience, cutting the temperature trace does more harm than good. As Stipo360 said, make sure the heat sync has conductive contact with the chips.
