If i add it to my cart, will i still be able to download it when (finally) get around to getting a PS4?
Really bummed about the whole P.T. situation. Reedus, del Toro and Kojima have all more or less confirmed they're no longer involved. So now we'll get more outsourced Silent Hill sequels that don't hold candles up to the first three. Major disappointment. EDIT: @Lionheart I'm not sure about that. I told a friend to do the same, but I have no idea whether or not that would work. My guess is it would have to be downloaded or activated in some way.
I think so but I'm not sure. Add to cart and confirm the "purchase". You should receive a email from sony confirming the purchase.
Yeah, as far as I've read having "purchased" the demo and receiving an email confirmation is enough to guarantee you'll be able to download the demo in the future. I did download it just in case, but having "bought" it is good enough.
People bitching about this in my social media feeds are why I'm in a bad mood this morning. ALL GAMERS WANT TO DO IS COMPLAIN. Just like Wrestling fans.
What a shame this whole Kojima situation sucks, what's going on at Konami??? Is it possible to back up PT externally, just in a case?
The apparent cancellation of a game many people were looking forward to seems like a legit reason to complain, though.
It definitely is, given who all was involved. P.T. showed an immense amount of potential. It even generated interest in both those who didn't own a PS4 and those who haven't played the Silent Hill games. I get gamers complain a lot, but this time around it's warranted.
And do we really want to be using wrestling fans as a demographic to compare to? Why not Bronies? I hear Juggalos complain too. Anyways, I think getting rid of Kojima was a power move on Konami's part. He had become too big and was probably wanting more money and control over projects. I can't wait for the behind the scenes articles to come out on this, if they ever do.
PT was like universally liked and tons of people were excited for Silent Hills, it's a very legitimate complaint. Plus when PT came out, I saw tons of people give it praise with few if any complaints. That would be my guess, I think he wanted the keys to the castle like Miyamoto has at Nintendo, and Konami didn't want to give it to him. So taking him off one of their big IPs and canning him after the game for another IP drops is their move.
Wow, woke up to a rude awakening.. http://m.ign.com/articles/2015/04/27/what-is-going-on-with-the-business-of-konami Konami delisted on stock exchange..... Kojima out of konama.........PT cancelled........ Are they the next Midway games? What is going on now?
Maybe cancelled high-end titles can finally bite the dust. I somewhat have a feeling they'll be a kickstarter or some shit like that. These days you don't need a publishing company.
This is rumour control: The reason Hideo Kojima has pulled out of various projects (including PT, commitment to the Metal Gear series, even "closing" his studio) and gone uncharacteristically quiet all of a sudden is - supposedly - because Konami was about to make some very bad moves he didn't want to be involved with. In addition to considering licensing out the Fox Engine technology, it's claimed they'd wanted their biggest name producer to accept a significant reduction in his pay, becoming hired under contract in order for the company to avoid going under, which seemed inevitable anyway once he studied the figures, prompting him to abandon the ship rather than go down with it, as now suggested by its stock exchange disappearance. That is all. P.S. At least one other publisher has made an offer to pick up this game in the hope it can be released under a different name, as it's believed Konami will try clinging onto Silent Hill and a few of its other, more profitable IPs as a way of recovering losses. I must strongly emphasise that such a plan is yet to be officially confirmed, but it's claimed Konami is going to restructure over the next few months to focus on producing mechanical titles based around its classic franchises. Did someone say Metal Gear pachinko, Contra pinball or Castlevania themed slots? I'm curious to see what happens with Hudson after it was absorbed into Konami just last year... surely its own heritage must be worth something to help lower the overall financial damage?
If anyone hasn't already, I'd strongly suggest checking out the Super Bunnyhop: Kojima vs Konami Investigation video on YouTube. The guy openly admits that since his source from inside Konami is anonymous he can't 100% verify his info, but it is still a very, VERY illuminating take on what's happening behind Konami's closed, burning, doors.
