Ok but i dont have the scart block how would i fix this please have you got some pictures thanks just tryed the cable with my n64 today as i just got a new 4mb ram for the console today. but still the cable still has the same probleam.
Is there a reason why you wouldn't be using RGB, raylyd? Obviously not a solution for a PAL N64 (buy an S-Video for that instead) but the best option for any other post-NES Nintendo console. And since you're UK-based, RGB support is commonplace and definitely worth it for the few quid the right cable will cost. That's a pretty big "if". What monitor are you using, splith?
]Horizontal scan range 24-82 KHz Vertical scan range 48-76 Hz http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01489685&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en In other words, no, it won't work.
What video connection are you using, are you sure it's 15.6kHz? Naomi supports both 15.6kHz and 31.2kHz as I recall.
Assuming the DIP is doing what it's supposed to, then, the monitor's capabilities exceed its specs. Nice. In that case surely all you need is a simple circuit (a single LM1881) to generate proper sync from composite? you might even get away without it depending on how flexible the set is with sync, I'd be inclined to bodge something together and check first.
Yeh that's what I'm trying, ordered 2 ICs off ebay on friday (a LM1881N and a EL4583CN), shall give them a go and see what I can do, hoping they arrive tomorrow.
Some bad news... Turns out my monitor can't accept 15KHz signals, so I've no idea what's going on with the NAOMI2's 15KHz setting. I tried on the TV via DB15 input and on my other monitor but both just display 'Signal out of range', which is a shame . I have a huge 15 inch CRT monitor about someplace, might test it with that. But if anyone's got a 15KHz-accepting screen it might well work. Maybe I should go look up about going from 15KHz -> 30KHz.
Look it up first. Finding specs for old monitors is surprisingly easy. You are going to have so much fun with this.
CRT is blown anyway, hooray for parents that are morons and can't move stuff properly. /end of project.
