PAL PSTwo SCPH-90002 - best hardware modification

Hey Guys,

So I've looking for another PS2 for ages to modify, for backups and the like (as I don't want to break my original PS2), I've looked up lots of soft mods and whatever else, but feel it's just easier to have a hardware mod. Yeah, more strain on laser, but it's not like it's going to get heavy use. So, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what's best to go for, and better yet, a possible installation guide.

I've also read that the 9xxxx series are notoriously harder to mod, but anything is possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, thanks Bad_Ad, I've read a bit about the modbo, just wanted a further insight, as has anyone actually used them successfully? Or am I just wasting my time?

 

Yes, I have chipped this model of console with a Modbo 4.0 and it worked fine.

 

i dont see how it will be that much more strain on laser if you find a good quality media/burner combination and romeo mod is done

 

Romeo mod a SCPH-90000 ? srlsly...

 

To clarify l_oliveira's point, romeo mod isn't required after the v12 and this is v18

 

Fair enough i thought it was meant for v9+ my mixup
