I have two game and watch Nintendo games pr-21 and pp-23 and was wondering what they might be worth. They both have the original box, and the Parachute games also has the original manual. They were never used and are in mint condition. I also have two Palmtex tri screen games called "rabbit hop" they are both in the original boxes. The last item, I can't get to come on. Its a palmtex PVS clear flip up game screen type thing. on the back it says 9000 r1. Does anyone know how to make it turn on? I am planning on selling all of these in one eBay auction. I was given these by someone who got them directly from Nintendo in the bay area, CA, in the early 80's. I will post photos tomorrow morning. I just got my account approved here. Thanks for any info.
So here' some pics of these games. Any information is greatly appreciated. I am curious as to the value, and if they are rare, or if anyone here has any of these palmtex ones, it appears this pvs device takes cartridges. free image hosting image photo hosting sites host images image hosting upload pics free image hosting image hosting image hosting sites image hosting sites photo storage
The power switch is the thing right next to the R & A button. Put in good batteries, and push that switch upward. After a couple of seconds you should hear 3 beeps if the game is working. (If you hear this, hold it up to light and turn the black wheel on the bottom until you see the very upper-left corner of the screen become visible. Well, more visible... ) If you don't hear anything, it's not working... Try removing the cartridge and re-inserting it (the whole top part), and make sure the batteries are making contact... The switch itself could also be having trouble making contact with the circuit board. If it's working: Pressing B will start the game, and at that point the directional buttons on the right will move you around. At any point, pressing R will reset the game and you will hear the 3 beeps again... Curious that a Nintendo guy had these... Checking out the competition... I don't follow G&W (but I'm sure there's those here that do), but here's some more info on the others: Rabbit Hop is manufactured by a company called Vtech: http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Vtech/RabbitHop.htm Obviously licensed by Palmtex (I have the Vtech Diamond Hunt new-in-box from Palmtex form as well, paid $80 for that) And my page on the Palmtex PVS (Also known as Super-Micro System): http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Misc/PalmtexSuperMicro.htm If you eBay them, list them all separately, and don't accept offers to end any of them early... You won't regret it.
All excellent information. Much appreciated. I am curious as to why my rabbit hop games say palmtex. The guy that owned these worked for Nintendo so I was told. But the more I think about it he may have worked for a video game company in the bay area but not nintendo. Because I also have several video arcades, pac man, ms pac man, rygar, 1942, centipede etc and they all came frrom this guy. So anyhow, I will list them all separate like you stated. However, what am I looking at here? should I just put em out there with no reserve, or should I "expect" a certain amount. And which ones are more rare, the Rabbit Hop ones or the Nintendo game and watch ones?
I got the super micro one to work using a 9 volt battery. I found that the battery plate that causes the rear batteries to complete the circuit are loose and not getting the game any juice. I heard those three beeps like you said and that switch turned the game on. The technology is way ahead of its time thats for sure. Kinda 3d. cool. Oh and another correction. These games came from a guy that owned Palmtex. His name was Bob Sagamore?? or something close to that last name. I was told that he created it.
Ooo, that's cool info... Any chance you have contact info for him? I'd love to get some history on that company... As for Rabbit Hop, they just licensed the game from Vtech, put their name on it and sold it... A company called Innovator did the same thing, although they changed the names slightly. Happens all the time. Even the PVS system, I have one with a sticker on it that says 'Super Micro' and sold by 'Home Computer Software, Inc.' Not sure who made it and who licensed it (although your info suggest Palmtex actually came up with this one...). They may have even owned Home Computer Software I suppose...
I was told that his company made them. I'm thinking now after what you said, Palmtex was maybe a manufacturer to an extent under license. Which would make sense. There were so many companies of this nature in the silicon valley in the 80's I bet. I'll try to get his exact name. It was a long time ago. I wonder if he's even alive now. lol
Man this site is fucking useless. Nobody has crap to say. I might as well, take these games and run them over with my truck.
Relax, people have lives. The people who want this stuff will be auto-checking the bay without you telling them too. Just calm down and don't be so rude mannered.
To be honest, I don't know what you expected the people here to say. You asked some questions, and someone who had knowledge of them answered them. They are probably of some interest to somebody, but nothing that'll make people go 'Wow! Incredible!'. You've listed them on eBay for a chunk of time, yet totally failed to provide us with a link to the auction, any details about where you are or any information on how much you are sellling them for. What exactly did you expect people to do? We aren't mind readers, and aren't the sort of people to reply to something unless there's something to say. You say 'no one has anything to say', but if that is the case why do I have 2 pages of topics with new posts since yesterday? Honestly, this community is pretty thriving, but if you rock up trying to flog something and show no interest in the rest of the community you're not going to get much out of it. All the best with your auction.
Bump Bump, auctions end tomorrow folks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300855501837?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300855503150?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300855508854?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/300855511970?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
