To view DVD's in YUV (YPrPb) you will need an Nintendo Gamecube Component Cable. As far as I know these are hard to obtain.

The Panasonic Q has an optical out, but I'm not sure if that is being used when playing games. Everywhere I look, it is said the optical out is for Dolby Digital / DTS sound with movies.

    BZZZT! wrong!

GC's EDTV cable does NOT enhance the DVD playback capabilities of the Q. ONLY the GC's output.

As such, even if u do have the GC's component/D-terminal cables, ur DVD playback will still remain interlaced at best. The Q does not have progressive scan enabled DVD playback.

Also, the TOSLINK cannot be used in GC mode.

He asked for a way to display his dvd's in YUV (should be YPrPb), and component cables will allow that, even if it's interlaced. :icon_bigg It should improve the colors on dvd playback over composite or s-video.
